This is another one from the archives. From my January 2007 trip to Kruger Park. Among the best animal photos I’ve taken, I think.

Early Friday morning there weren’t any cars on the National Road yet and the shadows were long.

Sometimes photos turn out entirely different from how I thought they would. Sometimes I’m alright with that.

I drove through the Karoo on Thursday and Friday. After a long day’s drive on Thursday, I stopped for the evening outside Colesberg. I decided to stretch my legs a bit and these two dogs followed me–well, actually, they led the way most of the time.

Mentally this bore some resemblance to the cover of Disgrace by Coetzee, which is set not too far from where I was, but when I looked it up, it wasn’t actually that similar.

I try to walk new routes to the same places I always go so I see new things. This works out well sometimes. A house on Clyde Rd.

After some investigation on one of my favorite pieces of street art in Cape Town (”All Shall Be Equal Before the Law“), I found out it is part of a Faith47’s series on the Freedom Charter, a document written up in 1955 that in many ways is the basis for the South African Constitution.

Here, I suppose, is the title piece, seen in Woodstock. I’m going to try to find the remaining pieces in the coming weeks.
